Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel wins the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix. This is his 42nd career victory, which now puts him in the third position in the list of F1 racers with the most wins. He overtakes Ayrton Senna’s 41 career wins, and he is merely nine wins away from equaling the record held by Alain Prost.

The current world champion didn’t fare well in the event. Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver Lewis Hamilton had to retire somewhere in Lap 33 after struggling with his car. Sources say he had an issue with the pedal.

On the other hand, Nico Rosberg failed to maximize the opportunity offered by the early exit of the F1 Drivers Standing leader and his teammate. The German Mercedes driver only landed in the fourth place. Also early in the event, Niki Lauda revealed Rosberg suffered “a glitch” in his car.

So after having a bad performance in the Qualifying, which only landed Hamilton in fifth and Rosberg in sixth, it came to this.

However, another situation that has greatly affected the strategies of the drivers was the incident involving a pedestrian who was able to hop over the barrier and was later seen walking on the side of the tracks at Lap 37. The action of this man resulted in the deployment of the safety car. Another point worth mentioning was the crash between Williams’ Felipe Massa and Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg at Lap 14.

Overall, Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo finished next to Vettel and Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen was third in Singapore GP.
