Mercedes-Benz To Unveil More Advanced MBUX And AI At 2024 CES

Mercedes-Benz is taking its AI tech forward by putting a mix of natural and more human-like interaction with it. This feature comes with a graphical enhancement in the MBUX infotainment system to bring a more immersive experience for users.

MBUX System with AI

A More Advanced AI

Mercedes-Benz is reserving the crucial details of its new artificial intelligence (AI) upgrades for the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). However, the company CEO, Ola Källenius, hinted in a press release that the intelligent feature of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) system will be more emphatic to the feelings of the user.

“Mercedes-Benz is reinventing the digital passenger experience by leveraging AI to offer human-like interaction with the intelligent MBUX Virtual Assistant,” said the Mercedes boss. “It includes empathetic characteristics that sync with your driving style and mood.”

“Paired with our in-house MB.OS architecture, this approach will define the future of digital luxury,” he added.

Unity Game Engine Integration

The next stop in Mercedes’ innovation also includes the fusion of the Unity game engine to the MB.OS platform. The high-resolution graphics, Källenius explained, will put on a “new visual dimension” to the infotainment system.

“This advanced AI-powered feature combines the intelligent systems of MBUX into a single entity and presents an expressive new face to the customer with natural interaction,” the Mercedes head commented.

Again, the information is quite vague but we are given the impression that there might be a new face to the interface of MBUX. It could be a human-like face for a more personalized conversation with the user. For now, this is only speculative.

What Cars Will Get the More Advanced MBUX System

According to Carscoops, the Concept CLA and the G-Class electric SUV prototype are heading to the 2024 CES, too. At least one of these — most likely the CLA — will be used as a canvass for showcasing the improved MBUX system.
