An outgoing model of the limited Mille Miglia 417 Edition was available for the SL 400 and SL 500. This particular car celebrates sixtieth anniversary of the 1955 victory of a 300SL featuring the “417” race number. The car was handled by John Fitch when it won one of the most challenging long-distance races in the world. It is also interesting to note that the race itself started at 4:17 AM and ran for 1,567 kilometers or 992 miles.
The Mercedes-Benz SL 550 Mille Miglia 417 Edition is based on the SL 500 or the SL 550 in the US. It features a 4.7-liter bi-turbo V8 engine offering 455 HP of power. It is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph or 0 to 96 km/h within 4.5 seconds. The car was also available with a V6 engine for the SL 400 model offering 333 HP of power.
Among the visual features of the SL 550 Mille Miglia 417 Edition are its designo night black matte finish as well as the red highlights, red brake calipers, black 19-inch AMG Performance wheels in front and 20-inch AMG Performance wheels at the back.
