The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is only in its second-generation series, but over decades, it has already undergone several overhauls. Already on its 400,000th unit as of December 2020, the iconic sport utility vehicle is one of the most-coveted rides of famous and wealthy personalities. Recently, Romanian aftermarket tuner Marius Designhaus released a new widebody package that further puts emphasis on the successful design cues of the G-Wagen.
The company was put in the spotlight after the successful debut of its Lamborghini Urus kit back in September 2020. From there, the specialist applied its formula to the G-Class. The new project is called “MD2”.
The MD2 package consists of a custom hood scoop, a front bumper with large vents, wheel arches, headlight covers, side skirts, spare wheel cover, diffuser, taillight bezels, rear spoiler, and roof. Most of the mentioned add-ons feature carbon inserts. The upgrades are topped off with 22-inch wheels featuring a multi-spoke setup. More wheel sizes are available upon request of clients.
The company did not mention any engine boosts for the G-Class. However, it should be noted that the fresh-from-the-factory version of the SUV already packs 416 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque coming from the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 of its G550 guise. Going for the more potent AMG G63 takes the output up to 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. For those who want more out of it though can always turn to the likes of Brabus for ridiculous outputs that could reach up to 900 hp or other tuners who offer more subtle power-ups.
