Mercedes-Benz continues its domination in Korea

Mercedes-Benz Korea sold 597 units of its S, C, E and B class models in the month of February as it continues leading in Korea as the top imported “premium” brand for the second continuous month of this year. The new C Class takes top honors as 1,000 numbers of the new sedan have been sold since its official launch last November. The model is a key contributor in Mercedes’ impressive sales chart and is enjoying a good run.

Sales are expected to rise in the coming months as February saw a 33.5 percent jump in imported car sales when compared to numbers a year ago. The rise in sales of the new C, pertains not only to certain Asian markets but also worldwide as global sales rose 18 percent in February, courtesy to the C-Class sedan and Smart microcar which have performed strongly.

Japan seems to be the odd one out as Auto sales have consistently fallen and especially the imported car sales figures are not pleasant to read. Mercedes-Benz recorded a staggering 11.5% plummet in sales in February, and the effect of new models don’t seem to help. Vehicle sales dropped to a 25-year low last year and the Automotive market situation over there is awful.
