Over the past few weeks, the Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake was the subject of numerous spy shots. These sightings resulted to speculations that the release date of this upcoming luxury vehicle may be just around the corner. However, it appears that this is not the case. A report from worldcarfans.com revealed that the upcoming luxury vehicle will not be unveiled earlier than next year.
The luxury vehicle manufacturer from Germany reportedly revealed that the CLA Shooting Brake will be launched next year. With the announcement, the upcoming vehicle will become the fourth model of the A-Class range of the company.
Without taking the re-designed rear end into consideration, the upcoming luxury vehicle will basically be similar to the sedan. The main trait of the Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake is practicality since it offers the biggest storage in the compact car range of Mercedes-Benz. It also offers additional headroom at the back. The vehicle is also expected to offer good fuel economy since it was designed to be the most aerodynamic four-door coupe in the world.
Sales of the luxury vehicle are expected to begin near the start of 2015. The AMG variant of the Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake is anticipated to be launched a few months after the standard model is unveiled.
The luxury vehicle will offer the same range of engines used on the standard variant of the CLA Class. Among the engines that the vehicle will feature are the 1.5-liter diesel engine, 1.8-liter diesel engine, 2.1-liter diesel engine, 1.6-liter gasoline engine, and 2.0-liter gasoline engine.
In addition to these base engine variants, the CLA Shooting Brake will also feature an AMG model that comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-charged gasoline engine offering 360HP of power and torque of 332 lb-ft. The AMG model will also feature the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. It will be capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph within 4.8 seconds.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake models are expected to cost more than the standard CLA model.
