Mercedes-Benz boosts the production of its luxury vehicles, particularly the C-Class sedan, in its plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to meet consumer demands.

Mercedes-Benz is doing its very best to meet the luxury car demand in North America as it has added extra shifts in its production facilities, particularly its Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant where the C-Class originates.

It should be noted that Daimler localized the production of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class in the U.S. to effectively answer to the region’s consumer demand, and with consideration that it is also the automaker’s single largest market. The local production of the C-Class sedan started in June this year.

Lower volumes has been posted following the company’s move to ramp up the production of the C-Class in the U.S. though with the new generation of the range poised to come out in September. Forbes said that customers have likely held back from buying the current C-Class because they are waiting for the new model to roll out in the market. However, the momentum of the German marque is expected to be boosted when the new C-Class is out.

According to Forbes, the increase of demand for luxury cars is not only in the North America. The higher demand for premium vehicles was seen in a global scale, especially in emerging economies. Analysts attribute the event to the rising proportion of well off customers and their increasing disposable incomes. China alone is predicted to overtake the demand for luxury cars in the U.S. in a few years time.
