Mercedes-AMG G63 Gets an Extreme Makeover from Lumma Design

The CLR G770 package of Lumma Design for the Mercedes-AMG G63 just entered its new phase of evolution. With the new R version of the kit, the Gelandawegan takes a more extreme look.

Over the years, the tuner has been a “hit or miss” in its extreme automotive makeovers. However, it appears that they have hit the bull’s-eye in their CLR G770 package and its succeeding R variant.

The new CLR G770 R equips the G-Class with a very aggressive front that features a more muscular bonnet with twin large scoops on the center and three air vents on each side. Then the radiator grille is blacked out and bordered with a thin red lining while the three-pointed star emblem is replaced by Lumma Design’s logo. The bumpers also receive large side vents and the twin side exhaust tips on each side are blackened.

In addition, the wheel arches are extended by 1.38 inches and adorned with faux vents at the back. The body kit offers mirror caps, LED light encasing, diffuser, and spare wheel cover in carbon fiber too.

Lastly, the exterior is topped off with a set of CLR 24 RS wheels measuring 24 inches. These are wrapped in 295/30 and 355/25 tires at the front and rear, respectively.

Lumma Design didn’t mention specific upgrades for the cabin of the AMG G63 but the company noted that the interior can either be customized based on customer preferences or kept in its stock configuration.

Currently, the company does not offer any powertrain boosts for the SUV. As a reminder though, the Mercedes-AMG G63 is already packing a 4.0-liter dual-turbo engine with a peak output of 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque distributed via a nine-speed automatic transmission system.
