A camouflaged prototype of the upcoming Mercedes-AMG C63 was caught on camera recently while it was being tested at the Nurburgring track in Germany, as shown on a worldcarfans.com report.
A number of teasers have already been released by Mercedes-AMG showing the high-performance coupe, giving indications that its official launch is close at hand. Industry watchers are anticipating the official reveal to happen before its public debut during the Frankfurt Motor Show, which will be held sometime in September. The upcoming vehicle will be sleeker compared to the sedan, and may feature 255/35 ZR19 tires in front with the four-do0or variant coming with 245/35 R19 front tires.
In addition to differences in the front tires and body design, there may be other difference between the two models since the coupe may be lower while featuring prominent wheel arches. The rear end of the coupe may also feature a prominent spoiler while taillights are expected to be similar to the ones used on the AMG GT or the S-Class Coupe.
The new C63 is also expected to feature a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine offering two tuning states: 476 HP and 479 lb-ft for the standard model, and 510 HP and 516 lb-ft for the S variant. Power transfer for both models is made though a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT sports transmission system.
A convertible model may also be released by the luxury vehicle manufacturer for the Mercedes-AMG C63 by next year.
