Lewis Hamilton Vows to Set Another Record in Formula One

Coming off from a Formula One World Championship win last season as well as a fresh and perfect victory in Australian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton promised everyone that he will set another record in the sport with his Mercedes Silver Arrow.

According to Daily Mail, one of the targets in Hamilton’s sights is breaking the record his team set last year when it comes to number of victories in a season. It should be noted that F1 team Mercedes-AMG Petronas won 16 out of the 19 races in 2014. So far, that’s the highest number of wins in a season, surpassing the previous 15 victories set by McLaren in 1988 together with Ferrari in 2002 and 2004.

In terms of pole finishes, Mercedes also equaled the record set by Red Bull in 2011. Last year, the three-pointed star marque listed 18 poles.

Lewis Hamilton’s Contract Status

Hamilton’s contract is set to expire at the end of the 2015 season. Up to now, his contract renewal has not been finalized yet. However, based on a report from Mirror, the Briton is strongly negotiating a three-year agreement worth around £90 million.

The figure is thought to be second highest pay for a driver in F1 with only Sebastian Vettel’s £35 million per year topping it. We bet that won’t be an issue though since Hamilton has proven his worth with the team, especially last season when he bagged the World Championship and he was instrumental in giving the group the Constructors’ Championship.
