The latest Smart Brabus made its international debut at the 2016 Auto China event in Beijing recently, as shown on a report from gtspirit.com. It is the most powerful version of the small city car with a power output of 109 HP. This increase in power was the result of the collaboration between Smart and Brabus. The power boost allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h within 9.5 seconds. The top speed of the Smart Forfour is at 180 km/h.
It will be available in all models of the hot two-seater, including the Smart ForTwo, Smart ForTwo Cabriolet, and Smart Forfour. The Brabus Smart ForTwo Cabriolet already made an appearance in Geneva and Valencia, and the sporty version finally made its appearance. To ensure balance with the upgrade in power, the car will come with the performance sports suspension of Brabus featuring a specially-designed ESP, a sports steering wheel and the twinamic six-speed dual-clutch transmission system with Race Start function.
The Race Start feature of the Smart Brabus can be engaged by simply releasing the brake pedal after it is depressed while the accelerator is floored. The new transmission system will increase the speed of shifting in between gears by around 40 percent when compared to the older model. It also comes with an anti-roll bar along the front axle to reduce the chances of rolling by around 9 percent.
The new Smart Brabus was given a sporty appearance with the addition of twin-exhaust tips at the back along with its large-size blacked out Brabus Monoblock IX light-alloy wheels. The wheels are clad in Yokohama Sports tires, which is suitable to the dynamic driving style of the car. A matte grey rear diffuser was also installed on the car.
The interior of the car features a lockable glove compartment in its interior along with a proximity warning function and the Cool & Audio package. The Smart Brabus is expected to become available in the showrooms of dealers in Europe by July 2016.
