Facelifted 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV and Coupe Unveiled

After nearly a year of teasing its camouflaged prototype, we finally get to see the facelifted 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE. The new SUV and Coupe models are set to arrive sometime this year in the US and Europe.

The upcoming GLE SUV and Coupe come with a host of updated options for their individual powertrain, tech, and look. Here is a glimpse of the key upgrades that you can find on its facelifted model:

Exterior

There are only subtle hints of the styling changes present in the new GLE. The redesigns can be found in the front grille, front bumper, integrated air intakes, and light flares for both the headlamps and taillights.

It’s worth noting that the louver running across the three-pointed star logo now comes with a segmented look for added appeal. On the other hand, the LED high-performance headlamps include two light points to complement the DRLs. Four light points are available for those who have availed of the optional Multibeam LED equipment, too.

Going for the AMG Line trim further takes the game of the GLE up. Mercedes has imbued its new signature scattered three-pointed star pattern on the background of the grille instead of the usual mesh in the outgoing model. The deal is sweetened more by the selection of optional light-alloy wheels in 21 inches, in addition to the standard 19 to 20 inches offerings.

Interior

The interior of the new GLE is just as impressive. Alongside the updated MBUX infotainment system is the new steering wheel that comes with touch sensors fitted on the spokes. These are used for controlling both the central touchscreen and digital instrument displays.

Moreover, chrome trim around the air vents and Piano Black Flowing Lines trim adorn the cabin of the luxury SUV. The latter is a notable feature that was once exclusive to the Maybach models but is now standard on the GLE.

More tech elements are at your disposal with the off-road mode of the GLE facelift. This mode grants access to data such as gradients, roll angles, and steering angles plus a visual of the front wheels on the central display for more precise maneuvering off-road and a more immersive experience.

For those who utilize their SUV for pulling trailers, Trailer Route Planner offers optimal routes while factoring in trailer specification. On top of that, there are also fresh assistance systems for reversing with a trailer attached for added convenience.

Powertrains

The US versions of the Mercedes-Benz GLE are available in four 4MATIC trims, namely the GLE 350, GLE 450, GLE 580, and GLE 400 e. Meanwhile, the high-performance variants of the models come in AMG GLE 53 and AMG GLE 63 S trims.

The highlight of the facelifted range is its new plug-in hybrid model, which is the aforementioned GLE 400 e. The engine displacements of the units range from 2.0 to 4.0 liters with electrically-boosted peak outputs starting from 248 hp for the hybrid GLE 400 and up to 603 hp for the AMG GLE 63 S.

Pricing

The prices for the facelifted GLE SUV and Coupe are not yet available. We believe that Mercedes will only release them once the orders commence around this year.

For reference, you need at least $57,700 to score the GLE 350 base trim. Going for the GLE Coupe that’s only available in AMG models in the US will set you back $81,200.

Final Thoughts

All in all, Mercedes-Benz delivers once more with its facelifted GLE lineup. The SUV and Coupe models boast exterior refinements, interior comfort, and a range of powertrain options for almost any type of user. With more details still to be revealed about the GLE facelift such as pricing information, we’re excited to see what Mercedes has in store when it officially launches this year.

With its impressive features and capabilities both on and off the road, the GLE facelift is certainly worth considering if you’re looking into getting yourself a luxury SUV or crossover coupe that offers uncompromising performance.
