Check Out This 1989 Mercedes 560 SEC Koenig with Widebody Design

Mercedes-Benz units produced between the 80s and 90s definitely do not get much love as their predecessors in the classic car department. However, Koenig cars are an exception to this because of their high level of exclusivity and imposing presence.

Featured here is a rare specimen in the form of a 1989 Mercedes 560 SEC Coupe Widebody, which is just 1 of 100 units produced by Koenig. This special edition car offers a plethora of exterior and interior modifications that turn it into a complete head-turner.

This sample was introduced in the early 1990s and quickly became a favorite among Mercedes fans. The Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC Koenig is a two-door coupe that features a powerful 5.5-liter V8 engine with 275 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. All that power is directed to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission that takes the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.8 seconds and tops at 149 mph.

The highlight of the Mercedes 560 SEC Koenig comes in its blue exterior showcasing an aggressive widebody styling. The Koenig widebody kit is accentuated by its redesigned bumpers, front grille,  side skirts, wide fenders with vents, exhaust tips, rear spoiler, wheels, and tail that reminds us of the Ferrari Testarossa.

There’s no shortage of interior upgrades in this Benz, too. The car is equipped with blue Koenig-branded sports seats, mats, gauges, a wood-trimmed steering wheel,  and other hosts of other Koenig-branded accessories.

This particular unit has 20,893 km (12,982 miles) on its odometer. It was recently sold on Auctomobile for an undisclosed price.
