An event in the US saw the appearance of the Mercedes-Benz SL 550 Mille Miglia 417 Edition recently, as shown on a report from worldcarfans.com. An outgoing model of the limited Mille Miglia 417 Edition was available for the SL 400 and SL 500. This particular car celebrates sixtieth anniversary of the 1955 victory of a 300SL featuring the “417” race number. The car was handled by John Fitch when it won one of the most challenging long-distance races in the world. The three-pointed star brand opened the event with the new Mercedes-Benz GLS and the facelifted Mercedes-Benz SL. The two vehicles were touted by the company as belonging to their “Dream Cars” category. That’s because both possess the elegance that could match the luxurious flagship car of the brand, the S-Class. The official images of the updated Mercedes-Benz SL were released recently, as shown on a report from worldcarfans.com. The images of the refreshed SL were released before its expected official launch at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The high resolution photos showed the standard roadster, SL63 AMG 63 and SL65 AMG variants. The standard model comes with a large-sized diamond grille, redesigned front bumper featuring large air intakes and a set of LED headlights inspired by the AMG GT. The prototype of the 2016 Mercedes-AMG SL63 is currently being tested by the luxury vehicle manufacturer. While going through its evaluation, it was caught on camera, as shown on a report from gtspirit.com. Even as the updated SL63 is expected to be unveiled by the luxury vehicle manufacturer during the 2015 Los Angeles Motor Show, it remains uncertain when the model featuring the AMG brand will be officially launched. A teaser for the facelifted 2016 Mercedes-Benz SL was recently released by the three-pointed star brand to hype the car’s debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Only one photo showing the front of the vehicle was provided. From the image, the bumper, radiator grille, and headlights are visible, but the rest have been darkened. From the picture, one can see some likeness in the fascia of the upcoming SL with the Mercedes-AMG GT.
