Mercedes EQ Formula Team, ON Semiconductor Work For Future e-Powertrains

The Mercedes EQ Formula Team and ON Semiconductor will partner together to develop innovations for electric powertrains in the future. This relationship will build on the existing cooperation between ON Semiconductor and Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport where the former’s technology is being utilized in the energy recovery pack that “controls ignition and injection on the Formula One race car.” This relationship will extend into Formula E. A special example of the race track-exclusive Mercedes-AMG GT3 Laureus is up for grabs. Collectors will have a chance to own the race car at RM Sotheby’s Monterey auction held on August 25, 2018. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 Laureus has never been raced yet. There is no reserve price for the race car when it goes on the block but it is expected to fetch between $400,000 to $600,000 during the auction. The proceeds of the sale will go to the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation that helps disadvantaged children in 40 countries. Mercedes could not get a home race win at the 2018 British Grand Prix. At least, the fans wound up seeing one of the more memorable racing battles in recent memory. While chasing the race win, Mercedes and Ferrari were mixed up in the top four spots. Sebastian Vettel waited patiently for his shot, and made his opportunity count. The Ferrari overtook then-leader Valtteri Bottas in lap 47 and never looked back. A few laps later, Bottas slid wide after relinquishing P3 to Kimi Raikkonen, paving the way for a podium finish for both Ferrari cars. Bad luck befalls Mercedes at 2018 Austrian GP

There was no silver lining for the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team at the 2018 Austrian GP. Lewis Hamilton retired from the race with just eight laps to go, following loss of fuel pressure in his car. Coupled with Ferrari driver and title contender Sebastian Vettel finishing third, Hamilton will now be a point behind the title standings heading into the British Grand Prix in the next weekend. Also dubbed as the 4.MIBRallye, the MIB rally is already in its fourth year. The latest event ran for two days from June 8 to 10. The show started in Steinfurt, Germany at the BERESA Classic. Then, it wrapped up at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen.
