Mercedes-Benz Unimog Voted as the Best 2016 Cross-Country Vehicle

Rugged terrains, slippery paths, harsh weather, shallow river crossing and other extreme environmental conditions, it does not matter because the Mercedes-Benz Unimog can conquer them all. Recently, the Unimog was awarded the “Cross-Country Vehicle of the Year” under the “special-purpose” category by “Off Road” journal. According to Daimler, Off Road conducted a poll to determine the winner the best cross-country vehicle of the year. There were 12 categories that include the special purpose vehicles segment. Daimler Unleashes Fleet of Zero Emissions Trucks

As of April 11, the Global Media Site of Daimler AG announced that they just commenced the first fleet test of their zero emissions trucks. The vehicles are all battery-operated, and the project is run by the Fuso brand of Daimler Trucks with the cooperation of the Municipality of Stuttgart and Hermes logistic company. The trucks are branded as the Fuso Canter E-Cell. Four trucks are used throughout the duration of the test. Each weighs six tonnes and equipped with special equipment to be used in various tasks. We’ve featured about a guy before who uses French fries grease to power up his 1981 Mercedes-Benz. Now, Mercedes-Benz trucks have now been approved to use HVO. HVO stands for Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil. It is an alternative fuel source, a biodiesel type, that is derived from waste materials such as used cooking oil, oil from plants or even waste fats.
