S65 AMG To Launch In Los Angeles This November?

  Reports from online sources are saying that the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG will be introduced at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show in November. This introduction will follow the launch of another S-Class variant at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, the S600 Hybrid. As befits an AMG model, motive power for this huge car will be the 6-liter V12, tuned to produce 620 horsepower. Even carrying a luxurious mass like a 5,000 pound S-Class, that kind of output ought to produce more than respectable acceleration times. Mercedes-Benz Style Reveals Its Product Range

Over the weekend, the Mercedes-Benz opened an exhibit showcasing the entire product range of Mercedes-Benz Style. Being a luxury label, not just any showcase venue would do, so Mercedes-Benz decided to present its wares at the Porto Montenegro marina. Porto Montenegro is home to the superyachts of the world’s super-rich, so it’s an apt venue for a luxury product showcase ranging from eyewear, to a helicopter, to a luxury motor yacht. Since 2010, in addition to classic automobile design, Mercedes-Benz designers have been creating designs for other products in cooperation with selected partners under the label Mercedes-Benz Style. Mercedes S600 Pullman Moving Closer To Reality

When Mercedes shuttered their Maybach division, the company acknowledged that some S-Class versions could conceivably be made even more luxurious to at least try to be at par with the Bentleys and Rolls-Royces of this world. Now, this seems to be a reality as spy shots of a long wheelbase S-Class have surfaced, as well as renderings of what the car could look like uncamouflaged. smart Production Plant Celebrates Milestone

One million five hundred thousand cars. Any way you look at it, it’s a landmark production achievement for a car that redefined what was possible for an urban commuter. This milestone was represented by a white smart forwo electric drive cabrio. It was also one of the last vehicles to roll of the production line at Hambach, Lorraine, whose production will be paused for almost two months in July and August. This is due to renovations to large parts of the production installation, in anticipation of future production requirements. Mercedes Junior Driver Takes Pole at Norisring

In a result that surprised even himself, a Mercedes DTM team junior driver outpaced his more experienced teammate and grabbed pole position for the 5th race of the season. Canadian Robert Wickens, drove the STIHL Mercedes AMG C-Coupé to the primary grid position for Sunday’s race with a lap time of 48.384 seconds. Said Wicken, “At first, I was speechless. Mercedes Celebrates A Quarter Century Of DTM Racing

The weekend of July 13 and 14th will see Race 5 of the DTM Series being undertaken at the Norisring in Nuremberg, Germany.  In  the past 25 years, Mercedes-Benz has raced cars in the DTM, having sent its cars into battle beginning in 1988. Since then, cars bearing the 3-pointed star have won 169 races, ten driver’s championships and thirteen team titles. More importantly, it has garnered 9 constructors championships in the same period,  making Mercedes-Benz the most successful manufacturer in the history of the DTM. Mercedes Taps All Channels To Market Flagship S-Class

Recognizing that print and broadcast media need to be complemented by newer tools to reach its intended markets, Mercedes-Benz has announced its campaign to promote the new S-Class. Calling it the 360-degree campaign, Mercedes is using “The new S-Class. Vision accomplished.” as its slogan for its flagship saloon. Presenting the S-Class as the global benchmark for luxury motoring, Mercedes is committing to  the worldwide campaign by using  print advertisements, TV spots, an interactive web presence and social media activities.
