Audi set the wheels in motion and now AMG has decided to join the ride, with more diesel.
Recently, Audi unveiled the R8 V12 TDI which sent reverberations through the automotive industry. Most of the people were not convinced of such a claim until they saw the product themselves. AMG, Mercedes’ performance division is looking forward to develop high performance diesel engines in the near future.
One of the engines is expected to be a V8 diesel, producing 700Nm torque or more with better long-distance cruising efficiency. Nothing has been revealed regarding the car that will house the new diesel engine.
AMG has the distinction of developing the first diesel sports car: the C30 CDI. Although most of us ponder upon why there is this sudden shift towards diesel, we certainly don’t complain. And as for people like us, we will simply wait as the battle-ground in Germany heats up.
