Details about the next-gen SL-Class
Muamer Hodzic June 8, 2007
Winding Road has posted an interesting rendering of the next-gen SL-Class, that shows a drasting change to the current model.
The artist received the instiration from the numerous spy-shots that have popped out on the internet. While people may believe the artist and his vision, our own insider disagrees with some details on the car. Here is what he had to say.
Christa Lehmann either anticipated the hood wrongly thinking that the designers would do something like the C-Class or CL-Class with a bulging hood to protect pedestrians or was mislead by the camouflage in the spy picture. It will actually have two “muscles” coming out on the hood like the first generation SLK. The front bumper is also a bit wrong and the side vents will have one longer chrome bar instead of two little ones made of plastic.
One of the big change will be also the hood (none of the picture has it), it will have 2 powerdomes like the 1st gen SLK. This will be the biggest facelift ever ! As new optional equipment, there will be the airscarf. The AMG version will be even more impressive with a different design ! I guess that the trend for AMG is that the cars will be different than the normal Mercedes+AMG bodykit. That help the real AMG owners to differenciate themselves and will give them more individuality which is good I think.
How can we trust what he says, well let’s just say that he was right about some other stuff, like the covered up CLK AMG Black Series.
