Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV Makes Its Way at the Munich Motor Show

The first all-electric entry of Mercedes-Benz into the ultra-luxury segment of the market just hit the Munich Motor Show in its concept form. Here comes the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV!
In a nutshell, the Maybach EQS SUV is the electrified counterpart of the fuel-fed Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV, the concept will serve as a basis for the soon-to-be-unveiled EQS SUV that will enter into series production in 2022.
The Maybach EQS SUV features a smooth and clean body free from the rigid body lines that used to highlight the curvatures of former Merc models. It gets some design cues from the Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury that we witnessed sometime in 2018 and improves on them.
The ultra-luxury electric SUV also offers a two-tone paint with “Obsidian Black Metallic” on top and “Zircon Red Metallic” on the lower part. It is adorned with chrome accents to emphasize some of its key areas such as the pillars, window panels, stepping boards, bumper vents, badges, 24-inch wheels, and front fascia, among others. Moreover, it possesses the same pop-up door handles that have debuted in the new S-Class plus automatically-opening doors that can also be operated remotely via the MBUX system.
Like the other EVs in the EQ series, the Maybach EQS pays homage to its roots with its faux front grille featuring vertical pinstripes in chrome on top of a black background. Meanwhile, the interior mirrors the yacht-inspired theme of its GLS equivalent with white piano lacquer leather and rose gold accents, but with the addition of blue accents and lighting on certain portions. Among its other notable elements include a rectangular steering wheel, an MBUX Hyperscreen covering almost the entire dashboard, a 12.3-inch OLED monitor at the rear passenger section, a refrigerated compartment, champagne flutes, folding tables, and a storage area for other items. The amenities of the SUV can be customized depending on the whims of its owner.
There’s no specific info on the powertrain of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV but its manufacturer claims that it has an electric range of 373 miles on a full charge.
