Mysterious Mercedes-Benz EQ Prototype Seen on the Road

Giancarlo Perlas July 23, 2020

The Mercedes-Benz EQ range is nearly complete. The EQC is already out while the prototypes of the EQA, EQB, and EQS are already undergoing testing. Recently, new spy shots reveal another model from the range.

The prototype spied by Carscoops is in full camouflage but its bulging front grille is unmistakably that of the EQ line. The side mirrors are similar to the ones equipped on the EQS too. Meanwhile, its shape and proportions resemble the EQC, but then again, Mercedes just released the EQC last year so there’s probably no point of overhauling the model this early.

We have already dismissed the idea that we might be looking at the EQB or EQS because the spied EV does not resemble any of their bodies from the previous spy shots. That only leaves us with the EQE.

The EQE has been confirmed for 2022 unveiling but we are yet to see the prototype of the electric sport utility vehicle so this is the probable suspect here. The model is expected to sit between the EQC and EQS following the positioning of the E-Class in between the C-Class and S-Class cars.

The source claimed that the prototype is a bit longer than the EQC, but it is still within the compact segment. That further strengthens our theory.

There’s really not much to discuss with the mysterious Mercedes-Benz EQ prototype because of the heavy camouflage and lack of insider info on the subject as of yet. On the other hand, it could also be a different model altogether.

For now, check out the spy shots in the gallery below:
