Facelifted Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan and Wagon Spied

Giancarlo Perlas June 24, 2019

New spy shots reveal that both the Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan and wagon models are getting a facelift. The new look is complemented by a power boost.

A new spy video gives us hints on what to expect from both the upcoming E-Class models when they roll out in 2020:

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan

The front and rear of the spied E-Class sedan (W213) are wrapped in white. However, based on the bulges and the portions peeking from the covers, we can see that the car will get a new radiator grille design. The headlamps are also narrower with integrated LED DRLs. Overall, the fascia of the auto bears a striking resemblance with the new CLS. Meanwhile, the rear appears to be getting a redesign too, particularly in the taillights.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon

The E-Class wagon (S213) is getting the same cosmetic changes seen in its sedan version. We can see the same sharp headlights design in the vehicle but the front grille looks different from its sibling. A glimpse of its interior and the dual exhaust in the rear suggest that it will be in the higher trim level.

We don’t expect major updates in the cockpits of the E-Class sedan and wagon. Therefore, look forward to getting the same large dual displays seen in the existing models of the products. The turbine-inspired air vents will be carried over to the vehicles as well.

Powertrain

The 2.0-liter inline-four engine of the E-Class will likely get an upgrade. The E300 trim will be renamed as the E350. The unit’s output will increase from 255 hp to 269 hp but the torque should remain at 273 lb-ft.
