Top 3 Things That Make The Mercedes-Benz GLB Stand Out

The compact car presents a nice alternative to those who want the utility of a minivan or station wagon in a sport utility vehicle with its optional third-row of seats. Currently, the GLB is the only compact luxury SUV that offers that kind of passenger capacity in the market.
Exterior
The GLB uses the latest MFA (modular front-wheel-drive architecture) of Mercedes. So far, it is the biggest vehicle to use the platform. The vehicle measures 4,634 mm in length, 1,834 in width, and 1,658 mm in height, which put it in the compact car segment.
Traces of the GLA and the GLC can be seen in the design of the SUV, and its body adopts the latest design language of Mercedes. Like the latest cars of the luxury maker, its surfaces are smoother and cleaner with less use of sharp body lines.
Its maker puts a little emphasis on its off-road potentials through its upright front section though. It was also hinted that a special off-road package for the auto will be introduced later on.
Interior
The element that truly highlights the GLB is its three-row seating capacity as well as its adjustable seats in the front and mid passenger areas. Since the auto is compact, its third-row seats are only ideal for occupants who are not more than 5 foot 6 tall.
The other interior features of the GLB include its LED ambient lighting, leather covered seats, chrome accents, dual touchscreen displays, circular air vents, aluminum pedals and multifunction steering wheel. The SUV showcases the MBUX multimedia system too with voice command and optional gesture controls.
Powertrains
At present, the compact SUV is available in its GLB 200, GLB 250 4MATIC, GLB 200 d, GLB 200 d 4MATIC and GLB 220 d 4MATIC guises. The units are equipped with four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. Except the gas-fed GLB 200 that comes with a seven-speed automatic transmission as a standard fit, all other versions use the eight-speed automatic transmission system.
The most fuel-efficient variant, the GLB 200 d, has 150 hp and 320 Nm of torque. Meanwhile the GLB 250 4MATIC, which is the only model to reach the U.S. soil, gets 224 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The latter runs from 0-100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds with an electronically-limited top speed of 236 km/h.
