Wild Custom Mercedes-Benz X-Class Spotted
Giancarlo Perlas May 9, 2018Pickup Design, the pickup truck division of Carlex Design, just revealed its new upgrades for the Mercedes-Benz X-Class. The packages offered by the specialist provide buyers two ways of customizing the styling of the vehicle.
Pickup Design calls their X-Class package the “EXY”. This is available in Off-Road Extreme and Urban versions.
As the names imply, the first one focuses on improving the off-road capabilities of the Mercedes pickup by giving it all-terrain tires, higher ride height, extended wheel arches, skid plate, tow hooks, LED bar on the roof, carbon bonnet protector and sports bar complete with roof spoiler in the rear. There are also “EXY” decals at the back.
The Urban benefits from the widebody kit, too. However, it features a lower ride height and 20-inch wheels wrapped in performance tires. In addition, the fenders and the front bumper come in carbon-fiber materials in order to minimize the pickup’s weight gain from all its extra accessories.
Inside the ute are a pair of racing seats in front. High-end crimson leather surfaces adorn its upholstery, giving it a sports car look.
The new package of Pickup Design only provides cosmetic changes to the X-Class. Therefore, don’t expect a boost in its engine. It should be noted that the most powerful engine of the X-Class so far is the 3.0-liter turbo V6 found in its X350d trim. That’s good for 187 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque.
The auto has a top speed of 127 mph and it can accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 7.9 seconds.
