This Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Prototype is Having a Bad Day

The Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG is towing the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 prototype as another camouflaged Mercedes car follows.
A prototype for the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 SUV was just spied. The photos show the camouflaged car having its winter test drive in Sweden. However, it stalled along the way and had to be rescued by a Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG.
The high-performance GLE is Mercedes’ answer to the BMW X5 and Land Rover Velar. According to Motor1, which is also the source of the spy photos, the AMG version of the GLE will likely be offered in three trims. These are the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63, Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S and the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53.
The AMG GLE 63’s output is projected to be somewhere along 500 hp. The more powerful AMG GLE 63 S will probably get as much as 570 hp. The more subtle AMG GLE 53 might share the powerplant found in the lowest trim of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe with 429 hp.
What gave away the identity of the SUV here is, of course, its form. Another is its grille design with vertical slats, which is now the standard styling of AMG vehicles.
The winter testing of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 appeared to be going smoothly in the first few photos. Somewhere along the way though, it can be seen being towed by the Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG. One image shows the two being followed by what looks like another Mercedes car bearing a grille design similar to the Concept EQ we saw last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
