Mercedes-Benz Museum Puts Free Admission for BMW Employees
Giancarlo Perlas March 7, 2016BMW is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Mercedes-Benz, being the greatest rival of the brand is not taking a backseat during the event.
The parent company of Mercedes, Daimler, recently posted a press release congratulating its biggest competitor. Whether it is a gesture of goodwill is questionable as there were plenty of hints that Daimler is trolling its rival.
The press release starts by telling readers that BMW was founded on March 7, 1916. However, it came with a reminder that Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler already invented the automobile 30 years before, and Daimler-Benz was established 10 years after that event.
Along with that is an invitation for BMW employees to the Mercedes-Benz Museum with free admission. Ralf Glaser, Head of Press and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Classic, said the invitation is open to them from March 8 to 13 this year. He went on to say that going to the Mercedes museum would enable BMW employees to discover the complete history of the automobile.
Then, Daimler sweetens the deal by giving the attending employees of its rival a reserved parking spot right in front of the museum provided that they are driving a BMW.
Lastly, the first 50 BMW employees in the event will be treated with a Swabian specialty. Daimler pointed out that the dish is a tribute to the double kidney shape of the BMW grille.
To avail the promo of Mercedes-Benz Museum, a BMW employee must bring a BMW employee ID card within the dates of the event.
While the offer is definitely shot to BMW, who could resist a free invite to the Mercedes-Benz Museum with a nice parking spot and a Swabian specialty?
Well, this should be interesting.
