Latest Brabus-Tuned Mercedes-Benz G500
Peter Parcon February 21, 2016Brabus has not released a tuned Gelandewagen for some time already, and its most recent version may be appealing to potential G-Class owners who are not in the market for the power offered by the G63 and the G65 models of the tuning specialist, as shown on a report from motorward.com. In fact, the black Brabus Mercedes-Benz G500 appears rather restrained.
Despite this restraint, the Brabus-tuned G500 cannot be considered to be an underperformer. The V8 engine of the Brabus-tuned G500 was given a power package while its appearance was enhanced through a styling package that balances appeal with trendiness.
The Brabus G500 was given a power kit that increased the power output of its engine to 500HP while its torque was increased to 523 lb-ft. These figures essentially gave it the same performance offered by a standard model of the G63 AMG, but with better efficiency. The fuel economy ratings of the G500 tuned by Brabus are 20 liters for every 100 km for urban driving and 11.9 liters for every 100 kilometers for country driving. The fuel economy rating of the luxury SUV for combined urban and country driving is at 14.9 liters for every 100 kilometers.
Brabus also gave the G500 a set of sports bumpers featuring wide air intakes, a new lighting system, a new grille from Brabus, tinted windows and 23-inch monobloc black wheels. The interior of the Mercedes-Benz G500 was given fine leather by Brabus along with some carbon fiber trimming.
