The latest generation, the W205, has spawned the sedan and coupe variants in the United States. Insider info and spy shots reveal that it is also getting a convertible version.
The sedan is available in five types of engine specs. The range consists of the C300, C300 4Matic, C450 AMG, AMG C63, and the AMG C63 S. On the other hand, the coupe version comprises of the C250, C350, and the C63 AMG.
The C-Class sedan’s lineup starts with the C300 with a 2.0-liter inline-four engine. It’s power unit has an output of 241 hp with 273 lb-ft of torque. The power of the car is distributed through its 7-speed automatic gearbox, and it can sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 6.2 seconds.
The range-topping model of the C-Class sedan is the AMG C63 S. It carries a 4.0-liter AMG biturbo V8 engine with 503 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. With the 7-speed AMG Speedshift MCT transmission managing the power of the auto, it is capable of running from zero to 60 mph in mere 3.9 seconds.
The coupe models start with the C250 bearing a 1.8-liter turbo inline-four engine capable of producing 201 hp and 229 lb-ft of torque. The power of the car is distributed through a 7-speed automatic transmission gearbox. It’s acceleration from zero to 60 mph is at 7.1 seconds.
The most powerful model of the C-Class Coupe available in the U.S. is the AMG C63. The auto is powered by a 6.3-liter AMG V8. It has 451 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque distributed through a 7-speed AMG Speedshift MCT transmission. The auto pushes itself from zero to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
