Kelley Blue Book Takes the Mercedes-AMG GT for a Spin
Giancarlo Perlas January 1, 2016The Mercedes-AMG GT may not be the most powerful sports car in the world. However, it balances design and power. The said features make it fit for everyday driving and for people who don’t want to compromise style while having a high performance auto.
Recently, Kelley Blue Book took the car on a spin. The video below shows the company’s Zach Vlasuk discussing its key features and sharing his experience with it behind the steering wheel. He talks about the engine specs, drive modes, interior surfaces, space, seating, tech and other important elements of the car.
As a recap, the Mercedes-AMG GT comes in two forms. One is the standard model and the other is the GT S, which raises the bar a bit.
Both cars carry a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine with varying configurations. The output of the GT is 462 hp with 600 Nm of torque while the GT S is capable of reaching up to 510 hp with 650 Nm of torque. The design of the two are similar except the red brake calipers, air intakes, air outlet, grille and high-gloss black front splitter, which are exclusive to the GT S.
The acceleration of the cars from zero to 100 km/h are 4 seconds for the GT and 3.8 seconds for the GT S. Furthermore, the top speeds of the two are 304 km/h and 310 km/h, respectively.
