The Posaidon Mercedes-AMG A45 Delivers 485 HP
Giancarlo Perlas January 4, 2016Before the New Year, Posaidon unveiled its project involving the Mercedes-AMG A45. The German tuner gave the car a significant boost in its power as well as subtle visual enhancements.
In its unadulterated form that is fresh from the AMG factory, the A45 boasts a 381 hp and 475 Nm of torque coming from its 2.0-liter turbo engine. The figures allow the car to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds, and achieve a maximum speed of 270 km/h.
With the package from Posaidon, the same engine is given a total of 485 hp and 556 Nm of torque. The improvements are thanks to an enlarged turbocharger, custom air intake, revised cooling system and modified gearbox. The top speed of the car is also raised to 310 km/h. The tuner hadn’t released its figures yet about the zero to 100 km/h sprint of the hatchback. However, it is estimated that it should be somewhere around 4 seconds or less.
In addition to the engine job, Posaidon offers an optional braking package for the AMG A-Class. The tuner even provides a customization that will disable the Start/Stop function of the auto.
Although not mentioned by the source, the photos show the A45 with new rear wing, side skirts, and front lip spoiler. The said parts are most likely made from carbon fiber materials.
