Hundreds Of 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Prototypes Caught On Camera

Spy videos showing the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class have continued to emerge, hinting at the possibility that the official launch is just around the corner. The latest video shows around a hundred pre-production units of the next generation E-Class waiting in a parking lot, as shown on a report from worldcarfans.com.
Two launches were scheduled by the luxury vehicle manufacturer before the end of the year. These two events are set to be held at the Los Angeles Auto Show. These two launches are for the SL roadster and the GLS SUV. On the other hand, the new mid-size model of Daimler is expected to be unveiled during the Detroit Motor Show, which will be held in January 2016.
The latest video gives industry watchers the best look of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class since the camouflage on some of the units are limited to the lower portion of the front bumper and the lighting clusters. While most of the units are covered with some sort of textile, some of them are rather exposed. It shows that the next E-Class has some similarities with the C-Class and S-Class. Although the pre-production units on the video appear to be the standard wheelbase models, it is already known that a low-wheelbase model will be offered, which means it may be available in the market as the Maybach model.
The next generation E-Class will be slightly bigger compared to the current model, but will be somewhat lighter due to its MRA platform. While the spy video does not provide a view of the interior, earlier spy pictures have given industry watchers a good look of the dashboard, which is similar to the one found on the S-Class.
If the pre-production stage has already started, it will be safe to say that the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will likely make its public debut at the NAIAS in January.
