Back To The Future With The Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion Concept
Peter Parcon October 17, 2015October 15, 2015 is a very special day for fans of the Back to the Future trilogy since it is the day Doc and Marty McFly arrived in the then-future. The influence the Robert Zemeckis-directed cult movies is so widespread that even Mercedes-Benz joined the party as it released three video clips for the Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion Concept with the BTTF theme.
Two of the three videos showed the high-tech devices seen on the movies, including the hoverboard and automatic dog walker. The third video shows the futuristic concept vehicle of Mercedes-Benz making a sudden appearance in the same way the DeLorean time machine travelled into the future after the flux capacitor was activated as it reached 88 mph.
Since the short video clips were released on October 15, 2015, it may be possible for the German luxury vehicle manufacturer to have messed up the date that only comes once in history. However, Mercedes-Benz may have also planned to take full advantage of the worldwide buzz on the Back to the Future date by releasing the video clips a week before the actual date.
The videos clips celebrating BTTF day are mainly aimed at promoting the futuristic car concept of the German marquee, the Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion Concept. All three clips thanked doc for giving the engineers of Mercedes-Benz the inspiration for the concept vehicle.
As for the movie franchise, there are no reports for a reboot, which is probably practical since it is not easy to recapture the huge success of the trilogy when it came out in the 80s.
