Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet Revealed
Giancarlo Perlas August 16, 2015We finally have a good view of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet without its pesky camouflage. Recently, an image showing the convertible with its roof retracted has been leaked online. The culprit is none other than Mercedes itself. It is merely a publicity stunt on their part to tease the car ahead of its official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The last time we saw the cabrio version of the three-pointed star’s flagship model it was making its rounds on the road, but with its roof up and rear portion entirely covered by a white camo. Now it has been stripped from its wrap for all to see its magnificent styling.
As seen in the photo above, the S-Class convertible shares a lot of aesthetics with its coupe version. The front part remains unchanged from its sedan variant, but the rest carries the styling of the coupe. The only difference is, of course, the roof and the pillars. The A-pillar looks reinforced in order to provide more protection to the car passengers.
Going inside, it’s also not that different with the S-Class sedan and coupe. The same set of upholstery is applied, and the same level of tech is carried over.
For the engine options, expect the car to mirror the ones offered by its coupe counterpart. The most anticipated versions of the auto are the range-topping Mercedes-AMG C63 and the C63 S Cabriolets, which will likely possess the same outputs offered by the Mercedes-AMG C63 and C63 S Coupes, and the Mercedes-AMG GT and GT S sports cars.
