New Spy Shot Shows the Facelifted Mercedes-Benz A-Class

There have been ongoing rumors that the Mercedes-Benz A-Class will have a facelifted version soon. Although Mercedes declined to comment on the matter, the Germany-based Mercedes-Fans website claimed to have captured the car in the flesh without its camo, which is featured above.
If there are no Photoshop modifications involved in the image, then expect the updated Mercedes-Benz A-Class to feature revised headlights, grille and front bumper. Unfortunately, no photo was provided by the source showing the rear of the car. However, based on what we have learned so far, the facelifted A-Class might feature some major enhancements in its taillights as well.
No spy shots of the hatchback’s interior were provided too. But Carscoops said it will likely carry the same dashboard controls and tech found on the GLA—the car’s closest SUV relative.
The report added that the facelifted Mercedes A-Class will get subtle upgrades in its engine. One of the changes would be in the Mercedes-AMG A45, which will probably have a tweaked 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder AMG engine designed to deliver an output of up to 370 hp and at least 450 Nm of torque.
Mercedes might release the facelifted A-Class in September this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. With that said, it is certain to carry a 2016 model year.
New Mercedes-Benz Coupe Might Replace the Mercedes-Benz A-Class
Last week, AutoCar revealed that the A-Class would possibly be replaced in 2019 by a new coupe lineup. The article stated it might be built using the second-generation MFA platform of Mercedes. Then, it will be adopting a couple of styling features found on the Mercedes-AMG GT.
The replacement of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class was said to be the brand’s response to the Audi TT and BMW 2 Series in the future. If this is the case, the days of the A-Class are definitely numbered.
