Latest Video Of Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Prototype
Peter Parcon August 28, 2014A number of spy shots and videos emerged showing the upcoming Mercedes-Benz AMG GT in recent months. Another video of the upcoming replacement for the SLS AMG being tested on the Nurburgring emerged recently, as indicated on a worldcarfans.com report. The latest prototype of the upcoming luxury supercar only had a few variations from prototypes that were spotted in the past.
Although reports hinted at the possibility that the recently-sighted luxury vehicle is the Black Series variant of the vehicle, some industry watchers were uncertain about these reports.
The most noticeable difference of the luxury vehicle was its rear wing. The recently-sighted prototype indicated that the rear wing may be fastened to the back of the body. It was also slightly different compared to the retractable design of previously-sighted prototypes.
The air intakes of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT prototype have also increased in size. The size increase was necessary in managing the additional heat and power that comes with a Black Series variant.
Although these features give an indication of a Black Series variant, the luxury vehicle manufacturer normally releases its Black Series variant two years after the standard model is produced. Since the production model is anticipated to enter the market in 2015, it is doubtful that the development of a Black Series variant will be ready for testing at this time.
The standard model of the AMG GT will feature a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. It is capable of producing 510 PS of power along with 650 Nm of torque. A Black Series variant of the luxury super car is expected to feature an engine that is capable of producing around 580 PS of power.
For the moment, the details of the upcoming AMG GT have yet to be released by Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is expected to be officially launched during the Paris Motor Show set in October.
