smart Unveils fortwo edition BoConcept
Ryan Joseph Ramos June 27, 2013We’ve reported on the smart and BoConcept partnership before, and now, the first production model to come out of that collaboration has been unveiled. The new smart fortwo edition BoConcept limited-edition model has just been unveiled, and prospective buyers can start ordering the coupe and cabrio variants, which are set to reach dealerships by November.
Pricing for these special models starts at €14,490 (around $18,900), and buyers have electric drive (55 kW) or petrol engine (52 kW or 62 kW) options.
The focus on these special units are the design elements. There’s the interior, which has been given special attention by the Danish urban interior design firm. You get a tobacco brown leather-ish seats that come with grey fabric inserts as well as light-lemon double stitching. These same contrasting colors are also found on other interior elements like the door trim and the instrument panel.
The exterior also sports the light-lemon color on the hub covers and door mirror caps. Matt white body panels are offset by the anthracite color of the alloy wheels as well as the tridion safety cell. The mirror triangles also come with ‘edition’ logos for further accents that set apart this particular model.
Coming in as the most expensive unit is the 55 kW electric drive cabriolet variant, which is priced at €23,395 (around $30,500) and has a €65 (around $85) monthly rental for the battery.
