Mercedes-Benz USA Names Webster New smart GM on Top of Other Moves
Ryan Joseph Ramos April 30, 2013Mercedes-Benz USA has just named previous pre-owned and fleet ops general manager Mark Webster as the new overall smart GM, replacing Tracey Matura, who then moves on to Chicago to become the GM for the central region. The shuffling becomes official on May 1.
“Leveraging talent is a great way to drive a company’s corporate culture,” said MBUSA president and CEO Steve Cannon. He added that he expects “fresh perspectives” and skill sets to help the company sustain the momentum it’s enjoying right now.
There’s a domino effect, of course. Apart from the moves involving Webster and Matura, Kurt Cornell moves into the position vacated by Webster. In addition, previous Northeast region area manager Andrew Noye is the new GM for the Southern region, former MBUSA GM of sales operations Bob Yeatman takes over the GM spot for the Western region, Blair Creed moves into Yeatman’s old spot, and former Central region GM Jay Schmid becomes GM of Mercedes-Benz Manhattan.
According to the company, the flurry of moves is intended to provide more operating experience for its various executives.
