Report Hint At Possible Small-Sized Luxury Vehicles From Mercedes-Benz
Peter Parcon April 14, 2013Small-sized Mercedes-Benz luxury vehicles that will compete with the Mini brand of BMW are reportedly being planned by Daimler. However, no sources were cited in connection to this future plan of the German automobile manufacturer.
The new models of Mercedes-Benz will be promoted in a different market segment from the Smart City Car. The technology used on the compact A-Class will also be used on this particular line of small-sized luxury vehicles from Daimler.
The report indicated that an SUV that is smaller compared to the new Mercedes-Benz GLA compact crossover will be the initial salvo of the vehicle line in 2015. The GLA compact I set to be launched before the end of the month at the Shanghai auto show.
By 2016, the luxury car manufacturer will release a three-door model that is designed to go up against the Mini of BMW. The price range for these cars will start at around 17,000 euros up to around 20,000 euros.
No statements were released by Mercedes-Benz on the report about the supposed small-size luxury vehicle line.
