Mercedes-Benz and Binghatti just unveiled their plan to construct a skyscraper in Dubai, UAE, that will be adorned with the signature three-pointed star branding of the iconic German automaker.
The Design So Far
According to the plan, the joint project of the luxury vehicle manufacturer and Dubai developer will be 341 meters tall with 65 storeys. The building will feature a curved peak reminiscent of the smooth-flowing corners of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. It will also be illuminated by the signature three-pointed star logos found on the faux front grille of the car brand’s EQ vehicles.
The skyscraper will be situated near the Burj Khalifa in the downtown district. This will mark another milestone for Mercedes as it makes its entry into the luxury residential property niche.
Binghatti said that the massive Mercedes building will have 225 apartments, exhibition halls, restaurants, gyms, lounges, and VIP parking. The goal of the parties is to have the place operational by 2026.
“With Mercedes-Benz Places in Dubai, we are going beyond automotive to create outstanding brand moments,” stated Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG Marketing & Sales Britta Seeger. “Our aim with our first branded real estate residential tower is to create new, desirable grounds that inherit our brand’s DNA and give our customers a place to arrive, unwind and come home to.”
A Growing Trend
Mercedes-Benz is no longer new to going beyond its automotive business. Aside from sports, the brand has been in active partnerships with major players from various private and government entities, which have resulted in the construction of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, hotel collaborations, and others.
The remarkable event reflects a growing trend of automakers embarking on real estate ventures. It should be noted that Bugatti, Bentley, Porsche, and Aston Martin are embarking on a similar move to expand their reach and visibility in the market.
