Known tire manufacturer Continental and famous Mercedes-Benz aftermarket tuner Brabus are joining up for some exhibits at the Essen Motor Show. A key showcase of the collaboration is the limited Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition.
One of the highlights of the Essen Motor Show happening from December 1 to 10 in the German Ruhr district is the key presentation of Continental’s ultra-high-performance tires, particularly the top-of-the-line SportContact 7. Of course, the best way to feature the product is by fitting it on the current flagship tuning build of Brabus based on a Mercedes-Benz car — the Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition.
The Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition takes its name from the founder of the prestigious tuning brand, the late Bodo Buschmann. This build is based on the latest Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+ Roadster and is limited to 25 samples.
The Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann possesses various carbon fiber enhancements, including a front spoiler, side air intakes, front fender fixtures, and rear diffuser insert. The icing on the cake is a set of Monoblock II Evo “Platinum Edition” three-spoke wheels hugged by Continental SportContact 7 tires measuring 275/35 ZR 21 at the front and 335/25 ZR 22 at the rear. These are complemented by new sport springs lowering the auto’s base by 25 millimeters to improve its aerodynamics and handling without sacrificing comfort.
Outside its mesmerizing aesthetics, the Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann is defined by its powertrain, packing a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine modified by the Brabus PowerXtra B40S-750. The configuration bumps up the car’s stock 577 hp and 690 lb-ft of torque to a whopping 750 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque.
The numbers allow the tuned AMG SL 63 to sprint from zero to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds. Meanwhile, its speed is electronically capped at 196 mph.
Other notable vehicles brought by Continental and Brabus in the event are the 1 of 25 Brabus Rocket R based on the Porsche 911 and the Brabus 1300 R based on the KTM 1290 Super Duke R Evo.
