A new spy video has surfaced, offering an intriguing glimpse of not one but two versions of the upcoming facelifted Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door. With subtle design tweaks and potential powertrain adjustments, this new iteration of the high-performance coupe promises to elevate the already impressive specs of its predecessor.
Styling Changes
The spy video from walkoARTvideos shows the AMG GT 4-Door in two variants. One appears to be a lower-trim model in gray. It is trailed behind by a solar yellow model with a sportier look.
The latter indicates a more potent version of the auto. This assumption is confirmed by its prominent rear wing and quadruple, rectangular exhaust tips.
Common to the cars in the spy video is the level of their camo, which hint at where the updates in the revised models will come from. Up front, the egg crate panel on the grille obviously hides a modified Panamericana design with vertical slats, hinting at a more aggressive and assertive appearance along the way. The lower fascia remains concealed, too, indicating Mercedes’ intention to introduce noteworthy styling changes there.
Additionally, camouflage covers the vents on the front fascia, subtly hinting at a more rectangular shape, potentially optimizing aerodynamics and airflow. At the rear, a strip obscures the model designation area and Mercedes star emblem, leaving us curious about what surprises lie beneath.
Powertrain and Performance
The spy video offers limited insight into the interior. However, it is speculated that major software upgrades may be in store for the upcoming model in the form of a more advanced MBUX infotainment system with probably better displays.
In terms of powertrain, the facelifted model might take it to the next level. Rumors have it that a plug-in hybrid variant, combining a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, a rear-mounted electric motor, and a battery pack may be in coming up. Such a configuration could potentially deliver an impressive power output and provide an electrifying driving experience.
Anticipated Premiere
Although details about the official debut remain scarce, automotive enthusiasts eagerly await the unveiling of the facelifted Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door before the end of this year as a 2024 model-year series.
