New Mercedes-AMG GT Spy Video Reveals Minor But Exciting Detail

The next generation of the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe has been making waves in the automotive world since its first spy shots came out. Recently, another spy video revealed glimpses of a variant of this highly-anticipated model.

New Design Detail Uncovered

Despite its partial camouflage, the AMG GT Coupe just spied by walkoARTvideos obviously boasts a sleek and aerodynamic design, characterized by flowing lines and aggressive accents. While maintaining its iconic silhouette, this new iteration of the series displays a more modern and captivating aesthetic that is guaranteed to turn heads on the road.

Based on its tubular twin-tailpipes, the car shown in the spy video is confirmed to be the entry-level model of the range, the AMG GT 43 Coupe. There are, however, some new details that make the spied sports car stand out from the previous units we have seen so far.

This particular unit already bares its outlets at the back of the front wheel arches due to its lesser camouflage compared to the earlier prototypes circulating online.

Advanced Platform

Based on the MSA (Modular Sports Architecture) platform shared with the AMG SL Roadster, the new AMG GT Coupe benefits from a cutting-edge chassis. Constructed primarily from lightweight materials like aluminum, steel, and magnesium, this platform offers improved structural rigidity and optimized weight distribution.

Complemented by conventional steel springs and optional active dampers, the vehicle ensures a balanced and agile driving experience. Furthermore, the new platform makes room for a 2+2 seating for the two-door AMG GT Coupe for the first time.

Powerful Performance

Under the hood, the entry-level AMG GT 43 Coupe will most probably draw its power from a four-cylinder engine based on the acclaimed M139 powertrain that’s also found on the AMG SL 43 Roadster. Although specific details are yet to be confirmed, sources suggest an output of at least 381 horsepower, offering an exhilarating driving experience. Paired with a 48-volt onboard system, this variant promises robust performance and impressive torque.

World Premiere

The next-gen Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe is expected to debut later this year with its sales commencing by 2024. Based on new reports, the car may not make it to the IAA Munich Show in September since the focus of the event will be on electric vehicles.
