The Mercedes-AMG C63 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle recently made its way at the 2022 Goodwill Festival of Speed. Although it came disguised in camo, a closer look at the car reveals a lot of its features.
The plaque near the AMG C63 does not say much about it except what we already know about its powertrain. According to the partial technical data presented there, the car will use the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine used by the Mercedes-AMG A45. Together with a 204-horsepower electric motor, the output of the PHEV will be peaking at a whopping 680 hp.
As for the exterior, the AMG C63 will get the same design cues and tech as the already unveiled Mercedes-AMG C43 but with some revisions to make it more aggressive and sportier. These include the wider vents on the sides and bottom of the front bumper, Y-spoke forged wheels with red brake calipers, a larger rear spoiler, and a quadruple exhaust with rectangular tips. Speaking of the exhausts, the presenter Mr. Benz shows us at the 6:10 mark that beneath the tips are only three actual exhaust ports – two on the driver’s side and one on the other.
Furthermore, a closer examination suggests an air outtake on the hood plus a couple of badges. It also shows us a couple of possible carbon fiber applications on the hood and the roof.
The Mercedes-AMG C63 PHEV is expected to make its world premiere either by the end of 2022 or the early months of 2023.
