Is the $105,000 Price Tag of the New Brabus Mercedes-AMG C43 Worth It?

Brabus recently released a new package for the Mercedes-AMG C43 in the tune of €89,131 or around $105,000 at current exchange rates, including the price of the base car. With that much cash, you can already buy a brand new AMG C63 S and still get to pocket $28,800 extra. So, is the pricing worth it?

First off, the C43 is considered by a number of enthusiasts as “not a proper AMG” because it only started as the C450 AMG Sport that was meant to bridge the performance gap between the standard Benz and the models of its high-performance division. In other words, it was originally a Benz with a little taste of what AMG has to offer until the latter decided to absorb it for marketing purposes.

Brabus justifies the pricing of the tuned AMG C43 with new “B” emblems replacing the three-pointed star logo, diffuser, and 19-inch Monoblock S wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires. It also comes with new aluminum pedals, lock pins, custom floor mats, more badges, and illuminated scuff plates in the interior.

Moreover, the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine of the car is upgraded to bring its output at 444 hp and 585 lb-ft of torque. That’s 59 hp and 48 lb-ft more than the stock configuration of the vehicle. The added numbers allow the auto to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds, and reach a top speed of 155 mph.

All these beg the question: do the minor cosmetic enhancements and engine tune justify the pricing? Well, if you want the added prestige that comes with the Brabus brand and you got plenty of cash to burn, there’s no issue about it at all.
