After months of hints from Mercedes-Benz and spy shots from third-party sources, the GLC Coupe is finally confirmed for its public debut. According to autoevolution, the SUV coupe will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show next week. Recently, the three-pointed star marque released a teaser video of the auto to hype its appearance in the event.
The 25-second clip shows the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe in action. It highlights its dynamic steering, especially around bends. Then it proceeds to display its power and agility. At the end of the video, it is revealed that it will be launched on March 23, 2016.
The GLC Coupe, basically follows the styling found on its standard SUV counterpart. The formula follows the treatment found in the Mercedes-Benz GLE and the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.
Then the GLC Coupe mirrors all the standard GLC’s curves and body lines. The similarities only end at the rear where the slope swoops down to reflect a sportier and sexier styling.
Although its maker is tight on the details of the GLC Coupe as of the moment, particularly in its engine trims, it is expected to carry over the powertrains of the slightly older GLC SUV.
One of the models we might see for the non-AMG models of the GLC Coupe is the GLC 300 Coupe. It will most probably have the same 2.0-liter turbo inline-four engine with 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.
