The Maybach has a long history. Its earliest car dated back to 1909. Since then, it was known as a producer of ultra-luxurious cars. But due to its disappointing sales in the past decade, it was discontinued as a brand and was later revived as merely a sub-model of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
The Maybach 57S was among the discontinued brand’s key models featuring a 6.0-liter biturbo V12 engine with an output of 630 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. That’s a lot, right?
Now what happens if you pit it against the Audi S8 and the Mercedes CL63 AMG? Find out the results in the video below:
Results (Spoiler Warning!)
The Maybach 57S with all its power was left behind in a sorry state by the Audi S8. A huge gap between the two can be seen in the video. The Audi was like half-lap away when it crossed the finish.
It should be noted that the S8 originally has 520 hp in its turbocharged TFSI engine. But it was given a Stage 1 tune by PP-Performance to improve its output to 600 hp in order to keep its power closer to the Maybach.
Despite the Maybach still having 30 hp more than its rival, the car proved to be no match against the S8.
Next was the race between the Maybach 57S and the Mercedes CL63 AMG packing 515 hp in its 6.0-liter biturbo V12 engine. This time, the Maybach outperformed its Mercedes brother by nearly a second to the finish line.
