The Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been there for 36 years. It has continuously evolved with the other models of its maker to prove that it is the most enduring range of the three-pointed star marque.
A lot of people find the iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Class to be very refined for an SUV. Therefore, they tend to forget about its off-road capabilities.
To remind everyone of what the auto can do on the dirt road, Mercedes-AMG recently posted a video in YouTube showing off that the G-Class can definitely go extreme. Watch how high the Mercedes-Benz G-Class can fly in the video below:
This is certainly a very impressive display from the G-Class. Some of its jumps even showed it launching itself up to a couple of feet in the air like a basketball star in a slam dunk competition. I just can’t help but feel sorry for the tires and the springs of the auto after this stunt though.
The model featured here appears to be the standard version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the G550, as it lacks the signature modifications of AMG. Even the wheels do not look designed for off-road trips.
The Mercedes-Benz G550 is equipped with the 5.5-liter V8 engine of its brand. The power unit creates up to 382 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. The figures put the acceleration of the unit from zero to 60 mph at six seconds, which is pretty great for a mid-sized vehicle.
Now, if the G550 is capable of this stunt, just imagine what the G500 4×4² or the range-topping variants of the model could do. It might have been more interesting than the one shown here.
