The Mercedes-Benz E500 was given a comprehensive tuning package by VATH, as shown on a report from worldcarfans.com. The aftermarket tuning specialist prioritized performance in the V50RS upgrade program for the rear-wheel drive luxury vehicle.
The 4.7-liter turbo-charged V8 engine of the E500 was enhanced to increase its power output to 542 HP from 400 HP. Together with this power boost, the torque was also increased to 612 lb-ft from 443 lb-ft. These impressive figures were made possible through the use of the VATH intercooler system for the turbochargers and the tweaking of the ECU in addition to some engine modifications. These modifications and the removal of the speed limiter gave the VATH-tuned Mercedes-Benz E500 a top speed of 300 km/h.
The V50RS upgrade package provided by VATH also installed a set of stainless steel exhaust pipes featuring quad oval pipes into this luxury mid-size sedan. The enhanced luxury vehicle was also given a carbon rear diffuser featuring fins, a carbon trunk spoiler lip and underbody extensions. The upgraded vehicle also received custom brakes featuring 390-millimeter discs, six-piston calipers on the front axle, and an Airmatic sports suspension system.
The V50RS upgrade package also gave the Mercedes-Benz E500 20-inch forged wheels from VATH. The wheels are wrapped in 255/30 R20 front tires and 295/25 R20 rear tires.
While VATH did not release any pictures of the interior cabin of the tuned E500, the tuning specialist revealed that the V50RS upgrade package will provide the Mercedes-Benz E500 with aluminum pedals, carbon fiber trims, a sports steering wheel and Alcantara highlights.
