Following the recent revelation of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE, a set of videos showing off the luxury off-roader was released recently, as indicated through a gtspirit.com report. The four videos give potential buyers a first look at the Mercedes-Benz GLE250d, the GLE500e 4Matic and the Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S in action. The complete range is expected to be officially unveiled at the New York Auto Show 2015.
The entry level GLE250d features four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine offering a total power output of 201 HP. The more notable feature of this model is its 52.3 mpg mileage while it is on the combined cycle. It also has a CO2 emission of 10g/km. On the other hand, the GLE350d comes with a 3.0-liter V6 engine with a power output of 254 HP and torque of 457 lb-ft. It has a mileage of 44.1 mph along with 169 g/k CO2 emission.
It is also interesting to know that this luxury vehicle has a plug-in hybrid version, which makes it the first plug-in hybrid SUV of the luxury vehicle manufacturer from Germany. The Mercedes-Benz GLE500e 4Matic comes with a bi-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine with a power output of 328 HP and torque of 354 lb-ft. Aside from its internal combustion engine, it also feature an electric motor that adds another 114 HP of power. As a result, this vehicle has a total power output of 436 HP along with 479 lb-ft of torque. This GLE model features a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission system that drives all of its four wheels. The pure electric mode of the GLE500e 4Matic has a total range of 28 kilometers with its top speed reaching 128 km/h.
The range-topping Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S comes with the standard twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine offering 577 of power and torque of 561 lb-ft. These figures give this GLE derivative the capability of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h within 4.2 seconds. Its electronically-limited top speed is at 250 km/h. The mileage of this particular model of the Mercedes-Benz GLE is at 23.9 and its Co2 emission is at 278 g/km.
