Mercedes-Benz surpasses 2013 sales total through November 2014

If you need a measure of the success Mercedes-Benz has had in 2014, here’s a good stat to chew on: the German automaker has already surpassed its total 2013 sales figures through November of this year. That means that the company is assured of a record year in 2014.

Mercedes-Benz C250 EstateYear-to-date figures are already at 1,486,839 units, which is a 12.4 percent improvement over the figures posted through the first 11 months of 2013. In addition, the company posted its eleventh-straight record-setting month, thanks to the 150,742 units it sold during this past November. That’s a 13 percent increase over November 2013’s numbers, bolstered by the sales growth of vehicles such as the C-Class in its sedan and estate variants (+53.3 percent).

In addition, Mercedes-Benz managed to grow sales in all regions in both monthly and year-to-date comparisons. European sales (61,060 units) accounted for a 13.6 percent increase for November and an 8.3 percent growth in year-to-date figures. The company sold 38,740 units in the NAFTA region (+2.3 percent in November, +6.1 percent year to date), including 34,578 units in the United States (+0.6 percent for November, +6 percent year to date).

Asia-Pacific region sales grew 23.3 percent in November 2014, leading to a 26.2 percent increase in the year-to-date sales. China sales improved a whopping 23.1 percent, including 30 percent growth on the year-to-date totals.

Mercedes-Benz also managed to post record sales in all segments. A total of 42,413 compact cars were delivered in November 2014, which is a 27.1 percent improvement over the same month in 2013. Year-to-date totals are up 24 percent.

In the high-end luxury segment, the company sold 9,519 units of the S-Class sedan, which is good for a 25 percent increase. Year-to-date figures are also up a whopping 88.6 percent (93,307 units through November 2014).
